Although we were cousins, the first time I met Bob was in 1966 after our families moved to Toronto. Our passion for music was evident when he put “Incense and Peppermints” by The Strawberry Alarm Clock on his record player! We would all jam for hours on Saturday nights in Tony Coles dad’s garage. Both our families moved back to Nova Scotia and I did the same a short time later. Bob was in a band by then and invited me over to the Western Shore Community Hall to listen to them play, I did go and after the singer left half way through the show, Bob insisted I go home and get me gear and join them on stage. For the next 4 years we made a lifetime of memories and music, at a time in my life when I needed it most. Bob, if there is a rock and roll heaven I know you are a part of the band, Rick on my friend

Hello one and all

This is Elaine, Bob’s sister.

My family and I can’t begin to express to you all, how much we appreciate the outpouring of love and support from so many of Bob’s friends. We were truly

blessed to have so many welcoming friends and family reaching out from our first day of arrival to town.

Wonderful meals and gatherings. So many of Bob’s friends and family reaching out to help in any way they possibility could. The amazing turnout for Bob’s Celebration of Life yesterday will be remembered forever. We were truly grateful to have talked to so many you you and so very happy to hear of the many adventures and memories that you all shared with us all about Bob. Thank you to so many. David Hyslop for dropping by each and every day to see how you could help. How do we being to say thank you? We are thrilled to have the opportunity to reconnect with our wonderful cousins David, Charlotte and Garry Corkum. They were so supportive and so willing to offer a hand and give us their love.

Paula MacDonald for creating such a beautiful and truly fitting Urn for Bob. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Annika, Athenee, BJ, Katie for preparing and sharing such a wonderful dinner for us. We will not forget the amazing birthday cake you made for our son Ryan. Our many thanks as well to Bob’s dear friend Francis for the lovely collage of photos shared at Bob’s celebration of life. So many heartwarming pictures, memories and moments.

To Suzi, thank you for your warm hospitality and sharing your lovely home with our family. To our family Aunt Glennie, Janie, Bob, Wayne, Aunt Helen, Paula and Karen for their love and support. And to our beloved Bunch, we will never be able thank enough. We could never have made it through the past week or the last few years of Bob’s illness without your strength, love and support. We appreciate you more than you could ever imagine. Your warmth, kindness and generosity will always be remembered.

My brother Bob and I did not see each other as often as I would have liked to throughout the years. We lead different lives. I a Mom, with a family and Bob a free spirit. We lived more years apart than we ever shared but that didn’t change our love for one another. I will always remember and cherish my many visits with him in Chester and our quiet conversations filled with childhood memories and stories. His niece and nephew Lisa and Ryan held a special place in his heart and he will always remain a favourite uncle to them. He truly loved his great nieces Lauren and Rebecca and proudly posted their photos in his home. Sadly Bob didn’t get the opportunity to know Ryan’s wife Michelle very well but if he had they would have been wonderful friends. Bob would have loved getting to know his his great niece Meghan and great nephew Carson. I know he would have loved them dearly and they too would have loved their Great Uncle Bob. My life will never be the same without him and I will miss him every single day but I was truly blessed to have had him as my brother.

Our thanks and love to you all for being Bob’s Chester family.

Elaine, Bob, Lisa and Ryan

Long Bank Bob always banked the Eightball if his opponent had more than one ball on the table. For Bob it was not about winning or beating you. It was about enjoying the game with you and helping you improve your game. He had the same attitude about life. It is not about winning or making a killing. It was about just making a living, enjoying the game and helping the people in his life.

Since the mid 70’s Bob was a good friend of mine, my late wife, Leni Lelieveld, our daughter Graidhne, son Brendan, their families, and my friend Pat Amey. He was a regular visitor at our cottage.

Over 45 years, local friends, our extended family, and many visitors, enjoyed Bob’s company, his music, his photography, his warmth and humour. We were delighted whenever we engaged with him in Chester, and in Ottawa in the early 90’s, when he was ‘on location’ with a film on the FLQ crisis.

Bob was a good friend and a skallywag that warmed our hearts and kept us on our toes, in the kind and playful way that endeared us all to him. He was a one-of-a-kind guy that will be deeply missed, but always remembered, by those of us who had the fortune to spend time with him in this life. I look forward to seeing what he’s up to on the other side. But for now, we will miss him

Sail on Bob. Long may your big jib draw!

Bob - a lovely man, with an incredible glint in his eye. He saw and captured all the details around him - all the beauty and potential that surrounded him in nature, women, friends, music, and his beloved furry friends. Such a gentle soul. He will be missed.

I have only know my brother Bob for six years, my appreciation for our sister Elaine who's hard work and diligence brought Bob and I together. We lived four provinces away so we didn't see a lot of each other. In the short time we did see one another both my wife and I saw qualities in Bob to be quite noticeable. A quiet, loving and caring person with a passion for music and photography. When most would pass something by without a glance Bob had a unique ability to see the beauty in the simplest of objects. This is the type of person my brother was and the way we will always remember him. Bob, our love for you is eternal and will seek you out and find you in your place of rest. God bless you and keep you !

Love you always, Don & Sheila Turner

I worked with Bob for 14 years and miss him all he time since the Tradewinds days. He sure had the tech magic touch to make our jobs more efficient. We also shared a love of photography, and anytime he would compliment one of my pictures with his expert eye, was a proud moment for me - LC

I first met Bob back in the early 80s when coming to Chester for work and soon after stayed and make a life for myself here. We never became deep life-changing friends but every time our paths crossed the conversations ranged from our shared hobbies to some deep thought topics, which Bob always said " In all my hobbies I try to earn an income" Soft spoken with a hint of wisdom in his eye, a true Maritimer with that sightly all-knowing smile. Will miss our chats over a beer.
